Virgil Tackett, age 93, changed his residence from Cherry Bottom Road to Gloryland Way on Thursday, October 23, 2014. He will be celebrating his 94th birthday with Jesus and the love of his life, Martha. Virgil was born on November 6, 1920 in Campbell County, Tennessee, to the late Boss and Retha Duncan Tackett. He was a member of Beech Fork Baptist Church. Virgil was pastor of several churches and proudly served his country in World War II under General Patton. He loved his family and friends dearly. Virgil enjoyed wood working, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Virgil is preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Charlie Tackett, sister, Marie Lindsay, and a host of other friends and relatives.

Funeral Service: 5:00 P.M. Saturday, October 25, 2014 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Tackett and Rev. Jimmy Rutherford officiating.
Family and Friends will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 to go in procession to Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Caryville for a 2:00 P.M. graveside service with Military Honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
