Sidney Leland Stepp, a long-time resident of Clinton, Tennessee, died Wednesday the 16th of March at UT Medical Center due to complications from cirrhosis of the liver.

Sidney was born May 25, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to Marion Francis Miller Stepp and Wilford Shelton Stepp. With his brother Steve Stepp, he grew up and attended high school and became an Eagle Scout in Kansas City. Upon graduation of high school, he joined the Navy and worked as a corpsman at Naval Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland during the Vietnam War.

After one year of service, Sidney attended Westminister and Tarkio College in Missouri and obtained a bachelors degree in English studies. After achieving his bachelors, he attended Oxford University in England and Northwest Missouri State University to obtained his masters degree in Literature studies.

After finishing his masters degree, he married his college sweetheart, Debbie Stepp. During the early years of their marriage, Sidney worked for the Saudi government to teach English at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During his stay, Sidney was gifted with his first son, Aaron Stepp.

After returning to the U.S., Sidney worked and earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Design from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. After finishing his Ph.D., Sidney worked for Applied Science Associates (ASA) in Schaumburg, Illinois. Later, he and his family moved to Clinton, TN and worked for ORAU. During his residence here, he was gifted with twin sons, Nathaniel and Ryan Stepp.

During a financial crisis at ORAU, Sidney transferred jobs to System Software Associates (SSA) in Chicago, Illinois. He and his family lived there for ten years before he obtained permission to open a home office back in Clinton, TN. To this date, he has resided here, enjoying the quaint and simply life of the woodland foothills of Clinton, TN with his loving family. Enjoying a cigar in his teeth and fireworks in the sky, his memory will be emblazed in those who loved him forever.

Funeral services for Sidney are on the morning of Saturday the 19th of March at St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton, TN. Visitation at the church is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by Catholic Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard will take place at 1:00 PM at Norris Memorial Gardens in Norris, TN.
