Roy Emerson Foust, 73, passed away December 26, 2013. He was born February 12, 1940 in Lake City to the late Robert Luther and Mary (Wallace) Foust.
He was a retired Sergeant of the Chula Vista Police Department in California. He was also the Firearms Instructor for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department before retiring. He attended Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City. He loved working outdoors, planting flowers, and fishing. He was a devoted Christian, a loving and caring man and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife Linda Foster Adkins Foust; sons: Paul (Nichole) Foust, Brent Foust of California, and Luke (Sabrina) Foust of Washington; daughters: Cindy (Mike) Coahran, Jerene Foust, and Angie Foust of California; stepdaughters: Angie (Chester) Crowley of Clinton; Valerie (Joe) McCarty of Oak Ridge. He had 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by sisters: Joan Berg of California; Velma Kelly of Oak Ridge, Hallie Harris of Lake City, and Mary Evelyn Hillard of Strawberry Plains; and brother Wallie Foust of Lake City.
Family and friends will be received Monday, December 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City. Funeral services will immediately follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31st at Disney Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Main Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of the arrangements.
