Patricia Searle
Patricia "Pat" Barber Burress Searle went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her home in Hixson, Tennessee. Pat was born October 12, 1944 in Lake City, Tennessee. She lived in Anderson County until she moved to Hixson in 1986. Pat was a lifetime member of Fratersville Baptist Church in Lake City, and attended Middle Cross Baptist Church in Hixson. Pat loved her Lord, and testified to many people about how the Lord helped her overcome physical health problems, beginning in 2007. She suffered with bone cancer, renal cell carcinoma (Kidney Cancer), a heart attack, lung cancer, and most recently, a brain tumor. Her doctors called her a "walking miracle," and Pat gives the credit of her healing to God.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Bessie Barber; her birth mother: Pauline Barber; and siblings: Ruby Wilson, Kathleen Daugherty, and Helen Sharp. Survivors include her husband: Daniel C. Searle; sons: Hubert "Porky" (Tina) Burress, and Doyle Burress; siblings, Johnny (Irene) Harmon, Bessie (Frank) Braden, J.B. (Barbara) Barber, Lee (Margaret) Barber, Alma Barber Hegwood, Faye Barber, Tommy (Cindy) Barber, and Nancy (Francis) Braden; grandchildren, Vanessa and Joshua; 3 Great-Grandchildren Vanessa and Joshua, Daniel (Mary) Searle, Sally (John) O'Higgins, Stacy (Jerry) Denton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City, Tennessee with the funeral service to begin at 8 p.m. The Graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodhaven Cemetery in Powell, Tennessee.
