Monie Bean

Monie Daugherty Bean, age 61, a resident of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Oak Ridge Hospital. Mrs. Bean was born on March 29, 1950, in Stainsville, TN. She lived in Lake City. Mrs. Bean was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended service at Island Home Baptist Church in Norris. In addition to her family, she enjoyed walking in the woods, reading the Bible, and working in the garden. She is preceded in death by her father, Rufus Daugherty, Brothers Wayne Edward Daugherty, David Douglas Daugherty, and Jonas Daugherty, Brother-in-law, Alvin McGhee, Father-in-law, Rev. Harold R.L. Bean, Mother-in-law Mary Bean Woods, niece, Susan E. Simpson, and nephew Bobby Kent Bean. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack Bean of Lake City, her son Rev. Jackie Ray Bean and wife Reeya of Heiskell, her daughter Tina Michelle Sellers and husband Jerry, of Lake City, her son Jeffery Dewayne Bean and wife Janet of Knoxville, her son Homer Douglas Bean and wife Christina, of Lake City. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Eric Bean, Amber Bean, Alice Bean, Jonathan Sellers, Anjalee Bean, Sonia Bean, Robin Sellers, David Bean, and Elina Bean, her Mother, Monnie Bell Daugherty, her brothers Calvin and Patsy Daugherty, Howard Ray and Ruby Daugherty, and Joe Clive Daugherty, Sister Nancy Jane McGhee, Brothers-in-law Rev. Homer and Mary A. Bean, Robert and Janet D. Bean, Rev. Fletcher and Janet M. Bean, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and her beloved pet, Angel.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Hatmaker Funeral Home. Monie will lie in State from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Island Home Baptist Church in Norris, TN. Monie's funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenny Bean, Rev. Verlin Langford, Rev. Calvin Braden, and Rev. Jackie Bean officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at the Miller Cemetery in Norris.
