Maude (Worthington) Brown

Maude Brown (Mrs. Otho) was born June 13, 1912, on the family farm near Clinton and died at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge on July 20, 2010, after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Otho F. Brown, parents, Etta Foster Worthington and Oscar Worthington, and five siblings. She is survived by daughter, Cathy F. Brown, sister, Annette Stooksbury, and host of nieces and nephews and host of friends, Sue Alley and Carolyn Cornelius. She worked two decades at Magnet Knitting Mills before she and her husband founded Otho Brown Realty Co. in 1949 where she served as secretary and bookkeeper for sixty years. Mrs. Brown was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved long rambling drives, visiting friends, eating out, big band music, reading, and watching the news, and in her younger days working in her flowers.

The family will receive friends at Memorial United Methodist Church in Clinton from 1:00 PM until 2:00 Friday, July 23. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM at the Church followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Laurence Hesser officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Food Pantry at Memorial United Church, 323 North Main St. Clinton, TN 37716, would be appreciated. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be William Alley, Tom Russell, Art Miller, Steve Queener, Danny Branham, Danny Holt, James M. Seivers Jr., Charles G. Seivers, Byron Hale, John Rice Irwin, William Hatcher, Herbert Clark, and Doug Fritts.
