Lucien Fern "L.F." Bussiere

Lucien "Fern" Bussiere was promoted from this life on August 16, 2015 after a prolonged illness.

He was born in Lewiston Maine on December 4, 1926 to Mabel & Wilfred Bussiere. He attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School before he enlisted in the army. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion post 22 in Lewiston where he served a commander and post 2 in Knoxville. He married Jacqueline Grivois on May 1, 1948 at St Louis Church in Auburn. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. He loved sharing stories about how he worked as clerk at First National grocery store, then went on to Leblanc's clothing store, Metropolitan Life Insurance as an agent and finally retired as a manager from the Maine State Liquor Stores. He truly enjoyed working with the public and made many long time friends. He served as President of the New Auburn Senior Citizens for many years until their move to Tennessee in 2011. He had the pleasure of planning many trips for the Seniors, traveling around the country and to Canada.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Auburn and recently St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Knoxville.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, a son, Normand Bussiere of Corryton, Tennessee, a daughter Elaine Saucier and her husband John of Knoxville TN; 3 grandchildren: James Saucier and his wife, Kathy, of Lewiston, Maine, Rob Saucier of Dillon Colorado, and Jennifer Hartman and her husband Monty of Madison Tennessee. He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, Viktor and Devlin Hartman, Alivia and Shyanne Turner, and Trent Kelly of Lewiston. He also is survived by 2 brothers: Francois Bussiere of Auburn Maine, and Raymond Tiffany of Columbia, Washington, 3 sisters: Yvonne Hebert and Annette Dubuc of Lewiston and Connie Sullivan and her husband Bill from Rochester New York. He is predeceased by brothers Leo and Jerry and sisters Blanche and Rita.
The family wished to thank Amedisys and Tennova Hospices for the tender care they provided to Fern during his long illness, They were a great support for the family and we highly recommend hospice care when needed.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Knoxville with Father Chris Michelson and Father Tony Budnick officiating.
