Leroy Hawkins

Leroy Hawkins, age 88 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Anderson County to the late Levi and Elizabeth Tackett Hawkins. Leroy enjoyed coon hunting, ginsenging, camping at Anderson County Park where he was known as "Pops", and spending time with family and friends. Leroy was a member of Cumberland Mountain Missionary Baptist Church (Swag) and also a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by: wife, Leopal Marlow Hawkins, son, David Hawkins, daughters: Patricia Sandefur, and Betty Lou Hawkins, daughter-in-law: Robin Hawkins, sisters: Bertha Murray, and Rose Byrd, brothers: Paul, Frank, Jay, Douglas, Rev. Warner Hawkins, and grandsons: Michael Clint Harmon, and Travis Sandefur.

Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating.
Interment: Family and Friends will meet at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Hatmaker Funeral Home to go in procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
