Lawrence Edward Phillips

Lawrence E. Phillips passed away peacefully at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Lawrence became a CAN and worked at Briarcliff nursing home while obtaining his nursing degree. Lawrence was a RN who worked on the cancer ward for ten years at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, three years as a floating nurse, and six years in dialysis for Fresenius. He was an excellent nurse in the words of his patients. They often said he was the “Best nurse they ever had.” Lawrence loved baking, cooking, making crafts and gardening. Lawrence’s faith was placed solely in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. He is preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents: Link and Stella Phillips, Blake Neptune and Stella Burgos, several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
