Joshua Duane Norman, also known by the nicknames Norman or Hemi, age 29 of Rocky Top, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. He was born March 14, 1990 in Fort Riley, KS. He was preceded in death by His Great Grandfather Edward Sexton, Maternal Grandmother Betty McCann, Paternal Grandfather Ted Norman, Paternal Uncles Johnny and Jimmy Norman, and beloved pet Diesel. Survived by Son Remington Arlis Norman, Daughter Aaliyah Nicole Dabney, Mother Debra Norman Lane and Husband George, Father Timothy T. Norman and wife Sherry, Siblings Timothy L. Norman and wife Bobbi, Amanda Isabell and husband Dwight, Adam Norman, Step Siblings Rachel Keeling and Husband Jim, William Cashion, Kevin Lane and wife Nicole, Ricky Lane and wife Carrie, Jennifer Branam, Eric Branam and wife Kaitlyn, Madison Branam, Rachel Branam, Paternal Grandmother Wilma Norman Gouge, Maternal Grandfather Jerry McCann and wife Bonnie, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and his girlfriend Zoe Sholtz and dog Shadow.
Joshua served in the United States Army, infantry division. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was close to both parents and wanted to make them proud. He spent numerous Summer days with his Uncle Troy, his wife Sandy and cousin Zach fishing, camping, and dancing. He also enjoyed time with his Aunt Janet, her husband Ed and cousin Michaela, spending time at Big Ridge Campground with them, reminiscing good times. He used to like going to Green Acres with Troy, Sandy, Zach, Sherry, Mamaw Norman to dance the night away. He always wanted to make sure who he was with was happy and having a good time. He would always have some type of comedy up his sleeve, be it impersonations, crazy dance skills or his humorous thinking slipping out. He had a special love for oldies music and muscle cars, especially if it had a Hemi.
Receiving of Family and Friends to be held Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hatmaker Funeral Home, located at 503 South Main Street, Rocky Top, TN 37769.
The Funeral Service will follow the Receiving of Family and Friends with Rev. Josh Hawkins officiating.
The Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 5:00 PM at Byrd’s Chapel Allegheny, 11270 Yarnell Road, Knoxville, TN 37932 with Military Honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Family and Friends wishing to follow in procession will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 3:45 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
