John Hester Hooks

John Hester Hooks, age 76 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born February 7, 1936 in Anderson County to the late Virgie Harvey and Mazzie Webb Hooks. John attended First Baptist Church of Lake City and was a member of Dutch Valley First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working in the garden, telling jokes, and talking with friends. John loved going to church. In addition to parents he is preceded in death by, brothers; Luther, Calvin, Joe, and Houston Hooks, sisters; Bertha White and Lille Mae Kelly.

Visitation: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Houston Carroll, Rev. Larry Poore, and Rev. Mike Jones officiating.
Interment will follow funeral service at Circle Cemetery in Briceville, TN.
