Jerry Wayne Burns Sr., age 75 of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was born May 7, 1939 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late William F. and Fannie Lewis Burns. Jerry was a retired Air Force Veteran and member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church in Gulf Port, Mississippi. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, wife; Thelma Goans Burns, brothers; William Henry and James Franklin Burns, sisters; Fannie Loretta Powers and Betty Lee Burns.

Visitation: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral Service: 7:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.
Interment: Family and Friends will meet at the Indian Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Briceville on Saturday, May 17, 2014 for a 10:00 AM interment with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
