Wills, James Matthew of Lake City, Tennessee born on July 1, 1975, went to be with the Lord following a lengthy illness on December 22, 2021, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Matt is survived by his children: Zane Wills, Kristen (Stephen) Johnson and Julia Moretz; The love of his life and fiancée, Christy Moretz. Matt and Christy were high school sweethearts. Life separated them for twenty years, only to bring them back together again. Love has a way of putting us where and with who we are supposed to be! Parents, James and Sue Wills of Lake City, TN; Sister, Teresa Wills Hatmaker; Brother and Best Friend, Stephen (Nicole) Wills; Niece, Sierra Foster; Nephews: Jacob (Lupe) Thompson and Justin (Danielle) Thompson; Great-Nieces: Alivia Thompson, Kylovena and Braelyn Thompson. His “Best Gals” Caregivers ~ Holly Parrott and Eva McMahan. Matt was a genuine and entertaining soul full of life, love, and humor. It did not matter how sick Matt was or how bad he felt! If Matt was awake, he was trying to make someone laugh or smile. He was a Natural Born Entertainer! He could also belt out a tune! If you ever spent any amount of time in his presence, you have heard a song, a joke or you have been a participant in a prank. Matt could rock the house down with Rock-n-Roll or touch your soul with a Spiritual Tune. And, yes, he even hosted Karaoke parties when he was bed bound. Matt LOVED WWE Wrestling, UFC, The VOLS, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans. Matt was always ready for a Wild and Rowdy time ~ Win or Lose! He always rooted for the Underdog. He especially enjoyed watching these sports and having a delicious meal with his family and friends. Matt loved life! That never changed. He loved having his family and friends around whenever possible. Matt was loved very much by all who knew him. He will be missed more than words can express. It is in those moments of missing Matt that he would want you to remember his smile, his laugh, or a special moment you shared with him. Matt would also want you to keep in mind that this is not Goodbye. This is simply, “See You Soon!” If he were able, Matt would tell every person celebrating his life that you are loved, you are appreciated and you matter! You never know how much time you have left on this Earth! Tell the people in your life that matter, that you love them while you have the chance. Take nothing for granted ~ your health ~ the people who genuinely love and care about you ~ your family and your friends. Say what you mean and mean what you say! Do everything with love and purpose in your heart. Finally, make someone smile today and leave them better than you found them! Rest In Peace James Matthew Wills ~ We will See You Soon!
