James Ernest "J.E." Taylor

James Ernest "J.E." Taylor, age 86, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at his residence. J.E. was born on January 3, 1930 in Anderson County, Tennessee to the late Roy and Willie Cleo Hill Taylor. He was a member of Briceville First Baptist Church. J.E. enjoyed amateur radio, crafts, being artistic, and making things with his hands. He was instrumental in the design and making of the moon box that brought back samples from the moon. He worked on the Seawolf Project and was a Kerbela Shriner and 32nd degree mason of the Coal Creek Lodge #492 F&AM. J.E. was stationed in Kitzingen, Germany during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, J.E. is preceded in death by his daughter: Jearldine "Candy" Taylor, brothers: Norris and Lee Mack Taylor, and son: Richard Bumgardner.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City, Tennessee.
Funeral Service: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.
Interment: Family and Friends will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to Foust Cemetery in Lake City for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Military Honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
