James R. Phillips, age 77, of Clinton, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born April 12, 1935 in New River to the late Tommy and Sarah Bunch Phillips. James was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church in the Marlow Community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Betty Phillips; daughter, Teresa Jeffers; and granddaughter, Angie Phillips

Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Lindsay officiating.
Interment will follow funeral service at Beech Grove Cemetery in Lake City,
