James Edward "Jim" Elliott

James "Jim" Edward Elliott, 58, of Lake City, Tennessee left to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, early July 4, 2011.
Jim was born April 5, 1953 to George and Ima Jean Elliott in Lake City, Tennessee. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1971, marrying his high school sweetheart, Connie Sharp Elliott in February 1972. Jim celebrated the Lord as a member and Elder of Covenant Life Worship Center in Lake City. His passion to serve led him to missions in countries such as Brazil, Haiti, Romania and Grenada. Jim was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, using this love to witness to others.

Jim retired from Boilermakers Union 453 in April 2008 after 33 years, working most recently at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, TN. Jim was an active softball player for over 40 years, qualifying in June 2011 for the Softball Players National Championship.

This loving son, brother, husband, father, papaw and friend's survivors include his wife of 39 years, Connie Sharp Elliott; daughters - "the girls", Jenefer Jane "J.J." Elliott of Kernersville, North Carolina; Natalie Jean Elliott of Norfolk, Virginia; and Emilie Louise Elliott of Norris, Tennessee; beloved grandchildren Paul Owen Oglesby, Maxx Elliott Oglesby and Natalie Jane Oglesby; parents, George and Ima Jean Elliott; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah Elliott Harris and Rodney Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Lisa Elliott; Bobby and Nancy Elliott, and Benny Elliott; and a large and treasured extended family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Covenant Life Worship Center from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 PM with Pastor Tony McAfee officiating. Jim's interment will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Foust Cemetery in Lake City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund at Covenant Life Worship Center.
