J. Will Disney

J. Will Disney, age 85, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born November 15, 1924 in Coal Creek Tn. to the late Danow W. Disney and Ethel G. Disney Woods. He was a former member of the Midway Baptist Church in Lafollette, and more recently served as a Deacon of the New Hope Baptist Church in Lake City. J. Will served in World War II in the US Navy aboard the USS Biloxi. He worked for the Tennesse Valley Authority on the construction of the Fontana Dam. He was a prominent businessman in Lafollette and Lake City. He worked as a manager of one of the White Stores. He owned and operated the D & W Restaurant and the Blue Haven Motel in Lake City. He served over 26 years with the US Postal Service before retiring in 1986. He was a past President of the Lake City Lions Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Dee Creekmore Disney, and half brother Earl Disney.

Visitation : 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Clark, Rev. Johnny Dabney, & Rev. David Walker officiating
Family and friends will meet at 1:15 PM Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Hatmaker Funeral Home to go in procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens in Lafollette, Tn. for the 2:00 PM graveside service with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard

Pall bearers: Brad Disney, Matt Disney, John Keith, Jonathen Settles, Ronnie Settles and Edward Davis
