Imogene Edington Weaver

Ms. Imogene Edington Weaver Born September 22, 1934 in Lake City, TN to Richard and Ida Settles Edington. She owned Weaver's Restaurant in Lake City with her deceased husband Eugene "Beanpole" Weaver for 30 years where she made many friends over the years and was able to help many people. She was known for her wonderful home cooking especially her meat loaf, Mexican corn bread, and strawberry cobbler. Her granddaughters' volleyball, basketball games, and dance recitals were what she looked forward to the most, especially basketball since she was a baller at the old Lake City High School in the 1950's. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City. Her granddaughter Faith, chose her college basketball jersey number to be number 34 because that was her Mamaw's jersey number in high school. Faith took great care of Mamaw and spent many hours comforting her. Emily, her oldest granddaughter, was always patient with her Mamaw and would sit and watch southern gospel music videos by the Gaithers with her. Lauren, the youngest granddaughter, took excellent care of her Mamaw during the time she lived at Lauren's house while she was ill. Lauren would get up early on Saturdays and Sundays and cook her Mamaw's breakfast and make sure she had taken all her medicine, check her blood sugar, and give her insulin shots. She loved her granddaughters more than life itself and they were her strength on days when she had none. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene "Beanpole" Weaver, sisters Lucille Martin and Christine Giles. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Weaver of Clinton, South Carolina, her daughter Gena Bryant and husband John of Knoxville, granddaughters Emily and Faith Dupree and Lauren Bryant, her sisters Dorothy Ezell of Madisonville, Kentucky, Patsy Neer of Lake City, Juanita Price of Clinton, and Betty Childs and husband Marvin of Lake City, special friend Donna Dockery, special friend and caregiver, Bertha Smith and her sweet dog Bailey. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Joe Minardo and his nurse Julie as well as Dr. Lewis Holmes and Medical Assistant, Crystal. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City on Thursday, February 5, 2015. The funeral service will follow visitation at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2015 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.
