Gerald James "Jerry" Hornyak, age 81, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, surrounded by his family at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born on January 9, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, Jerry was beloved son of the late Paul Sr. and Jane (Falvey) Hornyak. Jerry was a true renaissance man. His passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. He had a deep love for motorcycles, firearms, knives, and cherished animals' especially dogs, cats, and birds. Jerry enjoyed spending time in the park, was an accomplished tennis semi-professional, and had a passion for electronics. He found peace in the great outdoors, particularly in the mountains, and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan. Jerry was always up for a game of basketball with the kids, enjoyed playing bass guitar, and had a lifelong love of music. A true jack of all trades, he brought his enthusiasm and skills to everything he pursued. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose love for his family was unmatched. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hornyak Jr., and his daughter Angel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Judy Hornyak of Clinton; his daughter, Kimmie Dicaire (Rick) of Indiana and Lori Liles (Jason) of Clinton; his son, Jacob Hornyak of Clinton; and his sister, Lynda Chaney of Michigan. Jerry also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jerry Sharon, Matthew Sharon, Stephanie Dapkus, Judy Bohn, Jason Bohn, Michael Liles, Madison Liles, and Brandon Hornyak; along with 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Jerry also leaves behind 3 nieces, Pamela Jane Hoehn, Yvonne Phillips, and Yvette Chaney Wesolowski
