Frank Lay, age 76, of Somerset, Kentucky formerly of Lake City, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 at his home. He was born June 21, 1933 in Pioneer, TN to the late Alex and Viola Meredith Lay. Frank was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, hunting and traveling with his family. Frank was a member of the Coal Creek Lodge #492 F&AM and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. He was an Air Force Veteran Airman 1st class. Frank drove a truck for 37 A½ years driving for, A.J. Metler, Yellow Freight, Square D, and Newman & Pemberton. Frank was a teamster, having belonged to local 100 Cincinnati, Ohio, 651 Lexington, KY, and 29 Waynesboro, VA. He drove over three million miles accident free. Frank was awarded the Driver of the Year in 1978. He was very professional and known by his co-workers as, "Friendly Frank." Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Lay and infant brother Leroy Lay, sister, Pauline Carroll.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Watts officiating.
Interment: will follow funeral service at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lake City, TN with Military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
