Charles W. "C.W." Boggs, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City, where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, Training Union director, Soup Kitchen volunteer, and church greeter. C.W. was born on November 10, 1933, in Anderson County to the late Graham and Billie Nelson Boggs. He served as U.S. Army Medic during the Korean War, worked in Ohio, and finished his career at Y-12 and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Electron Microscopy and in Environmental Health Safety. In addition to his parents, C.W. is preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Boggs.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Wilson Boggs of Lake City; daughter and husband, Denise and Mitch Dougherty of Lake City; son, Matthew Boggs of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren; Chad Johnson and Travis Miller of Lake City, Lori Miller of Dayton, TN, Nicholas and Noah Boggs of Fayetteville, GA, and Joseph and Frances-Lee Dougherty of Lake City; special friend, Bobby Combs.
He is also survived by two sisters and their husbands, Shelby and Bill Campbell of Lake City, and Helen and Bob Clowers of Powell; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Barbara and William Lee of Oak Ridge, Mary Lynn and Alex Foust of Knoxville; and brother-in-law, L.C. and Susie Wilson of Oak Ridge.

Visitation: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City.
Funeral Service: 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City, with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.
Interment: Family and Friends will meet at 1:30 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City to go in procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City for a 2:00 PM interment with Military Honors provided by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
