Carliea Mize

Carliea Loucinda Shelton Mize went to be with the Lord June 26, 2012. She was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly, Claxon. She graduated from Anderson County High School in 1992. She was awarded a full scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University. She worked several years as a Data Entry Clerk as well as an Account Clerk for ORNL Federal Credit Union and the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections. She was currently attending Roane State Community College where she was pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She was born in the Medford community in Lake City, Tennessee, to John Henry Shelton and Anna Bell Wells Melton. She was the granddaughter of the late Walter James Wells and Etta Lucinda Vowell Wells of Lake City, and the late Mahonie Lee and Viola Wells Shelton, and Edna Shelton from Knoxville. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Mize of Seiverville, TN, her mother, Anna Bell Melton, her sisters, Constance Shelton Applegate, Candice Shelton Mullins, Chanderene Shelton Smelcer, of Lake City, TN, and Charisma Shelton Mahan (Dr. Stephen) of Myrtle Beach, SC, her nieces and nephews, Sara Shelton Winn (Micheal) and Jonni Rayvn Smelcer, of Lake City, and Joshua Bayker Mahan and Jaxon Taylor Mahan, of Myrtle Beach, SC, great nephew, Jaylen Shawn Shelton, of Lake City, TN, special childhood friends, Sandra Bowman , of Caryville, TN, Joann Emert Hansard and Teresa Slover McCoy, of Lake City, TN, and Irene Sawyers Humbarger, of Knoxville, TN, her caregiver and other mother, Sharon Christie, of Claxton, TN, Sandra Emert as well as a host of friends and church family.

Visitation: 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 30, 2012 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Young and Rev. Jerry Cassell officiating.
Interment: Carliea's interment is to follow her funeral service at the Clinch River Baptist Church Cemetery in Clinton, TN.
