Arvil "Poppy" Phillips, age 64 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1949 in New River to the late Carlie and Lucy Patterson Phillips. Arvil was a member of the Walden's View Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, working on vehicles, and driving coal trucks and dozers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by parents that raised him, Jonas and Nancy Patterson; son, Anthony Luke Phillips; daughter, Pamela Phillips; and brothers, Earl and Burl Phillips.

Funeral Service: 12:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Houston Carroll and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating.
Interment: To Follow Funeral Service at Patterson Cemetery in New River, Tennessee
